The leaders of the BYU-Idaho Pathway people are counting on our visit to boost the work they are doing with the young adult members of the Church, for whom education is the key to their opportunity to find jobs that will help them raise a family and stay active in the Church. As we left,
the senior missionary couple who works with the Pathway students expressed to me how important our visit is to these BYU-Idaho students who live in Ghana. We discussed various ways in which we can interact with them beyond the boundaries of a single concert. Somehow, we want to give them a BYU-Idaho experience, including the experience of being in a BYU-Idaho choir. Some ideas have come to us, and while it is not entirely clear yet how this will work, I want to run these thoughts by you.

Somehow, we want to give them a BYU-Idaho experience, including the experience of being in a BYU-Idaho choir. Some ideas have come to us, and while it is not entirely clear yet how this will work, I want to run these thoughts by you.
1. Our interaction with the members of the choir will actually begin right away! I would like you to help me design some rehearsal experiences with them which we will record and post to I-Learn (they can't get to YouTube at the Stake Center). These will be weekly and short—perhaps 5-10 minutes long, and will help them work on particular vocal and choral skills. We'll also need to find a way to hear them and follow their progress with what we teach them.
2. We can begin to interact with these choir members now, by assigning ourselves to become Pathway speaking partners with them. I think it is perfectly possible for each one of us in the choir to do this. It will help them join the Collegiate family and help us to build a bridge with the Ghanaian branch of the Singers.
3. Some of the students have expressed an interest in meeting us in Cape Coast and joining us on our excursion to the National Forest. I think that we can make this happen. This will give us some time with them in a social setting beyond our brief interactions in rehearsal and concert.
I think that these things can be accomplished without placing an undue burden on any one of us. Each one of us, giving a little time on a weekly basis, can accomplish great good. "By small means are great things brought to pass"—both in their lives and in our own. What do you think?
